What to Wear With a Long Striped Dress
Time for another remix! Today I'm sharing 5 ways to wear a striped dress, though these combos work with ANY dress. Pick your favorite–solid, floral print, polka dots, whatever!
The dress I'm using is the Old Navy striped swing dress. You know I love these "pajama dresses" because they're soooo stretchy and comfy that you could sleep in them. It's a swing silhouette and doesn't have a lot of structure, so pass if you need some more structure. Remember, these combos work with all sorts of dresses!
Since it's harder to utilize completer pieces in the summer, remember that accessories are a great way to change up a dress, too. I have several go-to combinations of accessories I use in the summer which makes it easy to get dressed. Most of the time I just throw on any of those combos and they'll work!

SIZING INFO: I'm 5'6″ and usually size S/M or 6 in clothes and 8.5 to 9 in shoes.
1. Tan Accessories + (Denim Jacket optional)
This is my favorite (i.e. default) way to wear most dresses–with my trusty tan accessories. They go with everything, so I just throw these on as long as they pop enough with the colors of my clothes. Sometimes I get asked if I recommend tan versus black or why I don't wear a lot of black, and it's simply a personal preference. I'd recommend either depending on your style! I like how tan goes with the warmer and softer colors I tend to wear in the summer. Use whatever the main neutrals are for your wardrobe.
The denim jacket is totally optional, BTW!

2. White and/or Light Accessories + (Denim Jacket)
My other favorite way to wear most dresses is with white accessories. They help my more colorful dresses pop in the summer more than cognac does. I personally love white since it contrasts well with my hair and skin tone, but I'd encourage you to find whatever neutrals pop against your own hair and skin, whether that's actually darker colors, some sort of metallics, or white like for me!

3. Utility Vest or Jacket
A utility vest is a great completer piece option for summer (with a big IF–if you can wear any completer pieces at all based on your temps!). I love to throw this on over dresses as a really light layer that also gives me pockets if my dress doesn't come with any. 🙌🏽

4. Pop of Color and/or Metallic Accents
If you've got a neutral colored dress, like a black and white striped one or a grey one, it's a great canvas to add colors. Here I'm showing it with a turquoise pendant necklace, but many other colors work, too! Bright pink, bright blue, pale pink, bright green, mint green, teal, bright red, and more. Have fun incorporating colors through accessories like earrings, bracelets, necklaces, shoes, and belts!

5. Moto Jacket
If you're going out and it's cool enough for another layer, add a moto jacket to your dress for a dressy casual look. Top it off with a statement necklace or shiny accessories.
